ÒCompleting a call with the Sprint IP Relay Mobile App on the BrailleNote TouchÓ The BrailleNote Touch is a simple, all-in-one braille tablet device which serves as a useful communication tool when using the Sprint IP Relay Mobile App. To begin using the IP Relay app on your BrailleNote Touch you first need to download it from the Google Play Store. The BrailleNote Touch is sold separately. Simply search for ÒSprint IP RelayÓ using the Play StoreÕs search box. After it has been downloaded you will find the app in the BrailleNoteÕs Òall applicationsÓ menu. Remember you can always type the first letter of the items you are looking for using the TouchÕs braille keyboard. Once you find Sprint IP Relay, activate it with the enter key or a cursor router key to open the app. Navigate to and activate the ÒAcceptÓ button. Using your ÒNextÓ thumb key, which is the furthest thumb key to the right, you can navigate to the Username edit field and activate it by pressing enter or a cursor router key. Then type in your username followed by ÒEnterÓ to move to the password field. Note that you need to use computer braille in these fields, which means no contractions can be used, and numbers must be dropped in the braille cell. After typing your password, press the ÒNextÓ thumb key until you find the ÒRemember MeÓ check box and activate it with the cursor router key. Then press the thumb key until you find the ÒSign inÓ button and activate with a cursor router key. You are now signed in with your Sprint username and password and can make a call. It is first important to tell the app that you are using a braille display so the app sends the braille correctly to your display. To do this press the letter ÒNÓ until you find the Navigation Drawer and activate it. Navigate down to the ÒsettingsÓ item or type an ÒSÓ to jump to it quickly using the BrailleNote Touch. Activate it to enter the settings panel. Use your next thumb key until you find the question asking, ÒAre you a braille user?Ó navigate to the ÒyesÓ button and activate it. Press your displayÕs back button or press space with ÒEÓ to exit the settings screen. Now you can make a call. From the main screen navigate to the ÒNew CallÓ button and activate it. Using the TouchÕs keyboard, you can quickly jump there by typing the letter ÒNÓ until you reach it. You will immediately be in the edit box where you can type the phone number of the person you want to call. Type the phone number and use your next thumb key to navigate to the ÒDialÓ button and activate it to start the call. Once the call starts, the agent will tell you the call is ringing and you will see this on your braille display. Use your next thumb key to navigate to the conversation edit box and activate it to begin typing your message. After typing your first message press enter to send it. You will see the messages from you and from your other party flash up on the display. If you miss messages, or simply want to review the past conversation, use your previous thumb key to navigate up the conversation. If you have reviewed the past messages and gone away from the conversation edit box, you need to navigate back to the conversation edit box and activate it before typing again. When you are finished with the call, use your thumb keys to navigate up to the ÒEnd call buttonÓ. With the BrailleNote Touch you can quickly access this button after you leave the conversation edit box by typing the letter E to jump directly to the ÒEnd CallÓ button. Activate it and confirm you want to end the call to complete the conversation. Disclaimer: Available on Android OS 4.0.3 or higher and iOS 9 or higher. Registration is required.
