ÒSteps for using the Sprint IP Relay Mobile App with your iOS DeviceÓ Before you can use a braille display with your iPhone, the display must be paired with the iPhone. Make sure that your Braille display as well as its Bluetooth capability are turned on. Then, on your iOS device, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Voiceover > Braille. When you activate the Braille option, you may receive a notification that Bluetooth is required to use a Braille display, if so, turn on Bluetooth by activating the ÒyesÓ button. Now you will see your Braille display appear in a list of available Braille displays identified by the last 6 numbers of your Braille displayÕs serial number. Activate your Braille display on screen and when the pairing dialogue appears activate the ÒpairÓ button. You have now successfully paired your Braille display to your iOS device and it can now be used to drive your iPhone with the Sprint IP Relay Mobile App. Now, you are ready to open the App Store and download the Sprint IP Relay Mobile App. Once you have downloaded the App, open it and you will now be ready to log in. When you first launch the App, you will be presented with a screen that asks if you would like to allow the App to send you notifications. Once you have chosen ÒAllowÓ you will be placed on the log in screen. Navigate to the username edit box and activate this box with a cursor router key to type in your username. Once you type in your username, press ÒspaceÓ with the letter ÒtÓ to activate the tab button which will move your focus to the password field. Type in your password and press space with dot 4 to move down to the Òremember meÓ option and check this if you would like the App to remember your credentials. Move down again and activate the ÒSign inÓ button. Before you can make a call, you need to tell the App that you are using a Braille display. Press dots 1-2-3 with space to move your focus to the top of the screen where you will find the ÒNavigation drawerÓ button and activate it. Move down the list of options until you find the Settings option and activate it. Move down the list of options to find Òconversation styleÓ and activate ÒAre you a Braille user?Ó Then navigate to and activate the ÒbackÓ button by pressing dots 1-2-3 with space to quickly move focus to the top of the screen where the button is located. Activate the ÒbackÓ button twice more to return to the main screen where you can now make a call. From the main screen, activate the ÒNew CallÓ button to place a new call. You will be placed into a field where you have the option to either type in a number or you can choose from a list of contacts if you have any. When you enter a number, press space with the letter ÒeÓ to place the call. Once you place the call, you need to activate the edit box where you can type your messages. Use dot 1 or 4 with space to move through your conversation history. When done with a call, move to the top of the screen with dots 1-2-3 with space and move down 2 options to the ÒendÓ button and activate it. You have successfully used the Sprint IP Relay Mobile App with braille to communicate. The steps that were just given are similar to the steps to be used for an Android Smartphone.
